The Needles District at Canyonlands National Park offers Discovery Packs, an exploration kit including binoculars, a hand lens, a naturalist guide and a notebook. Packs are available at the visitor center (a small fee and deposit are required).

"Especially for Kids" programs are available at Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras, and Ocracoke Visitor Centers. Some of the activities include seas-life printing, stories of pirates, evening campfires on the beach, fish with a ranger and turtle talks.
